Scutus unguis (Black keyhole limpet)

Snails are not only fun in most marine aquariums but also very useful, as they will usually be the first inhabitants as part of the clean-up crew.

The Scutus unguis (Black keyhole limpet) grows to a maximum of 10 cm and cleans the bottom as well as windows and stones. It is very well camouflaged, so you often don't notice it, even though they grow quite large.

A Scutus unguis (Black keyhole limpet) is also often used in an algae plague as they are known as grazers, but keep in mind that when the algae runs out the animal must be fed additionally, otherwise they will quickly starve.
