Nemenzophyllia Turbida (Fox Coral)

The Nemenzophyllia turbida, is a large pile stony coral (LPS coral). This unique looking coral is often known as the Fox Coral. The lime skeleton is very fragile and requires extra care when placing it between the rocks in the reef aquarium. It is a peaceful coral that has no visible tentacles during the day or night. The polyps are white to pale green and are quite large, extending two to three times the width of the skeleton during the day.

The Nemenzophyllia turbida or fox coral is easy to maintain and therefore suitable for both novice and experienced reef aquarists. It requires moderate lighting combined with little water movement within the aquarium. For good health it also needs the addition of calcium, strontium and other trace elements to the water. In addition, it will benefit from extra food that is given weekly in the form of micro-plankton or brine shrimp.
