Filtersystemen
In this department you will find filter systems for (marine)aquariums. Filters such as roll filters, bypass filters, fluidized bed filters, carbon filters, sponge filters, bottom filters, internal (power) filters and much more. For filter media, please refer to our new filter media department
Media reactors / fluidized bed filters
A media reactor or fluidized bed filter is intended to force a flow of water through filter material such as bio-pellets, activated carbon or other biological filter material.
Roller filter / membrane filter
A roll filter / non-woven filter is a highly efficient water filtration system that removes suspended particles such as microalgae, waste, food, organic waste and gravel from the water column
Mechanical filtering
With a mechanical filter the visible pollution is removed from the water. This type of filter is usually used as a pre-filter.
Power Filters / Interne filters
A power filter is actually also a mechanical filter but with a fairly high flow rate so that as much visible / floating dirt as possible is removed from the water at a rapid pace. Sometimes a power filter also contains space for biological or absorbent filter material.
Potfilter / external filter
A pot filter is often used as an external biologist for small marine aquariums or biological and mechanical filter for freshwater aquariums.
Hang-on filter
Hang-on filters / trailer filters are optimal for small aquariums, or where there is little or no space for placing an internal internal filter. In addition, this saves space and is visually more beautiful because the filter is not in the aquarium.
UV filters, UV-C filters and UV lamps
With a UV filter, the water is pumped past a lamp that emits ultraviolet light. The light kills many harmful organisms such as single-celled algae and parasites. Floating algae are not visible to the naked eye but color the water green / yellow. With a strong UV, approximately 1 watt per 15 liters of aquarium water you also kill parasites / germs so that it is much easier to keep sensitive fish such as picasso and white-breasted doctor fish.
Sump
A sump is a complete filter box in which you can store all your equipment. Often already equipped with the necessary equipment. A sump is always placed under the aquarium / in the cabinet.
Ozonisator
An ozonator is a device that produces sparks, which releases ozone. Ozone is a reactive substance to make water pure and very clear.
