Rhynchocinetes Durbanensis (Dancing Shrimp)

The Rhynchocinetes Durbanensis (Dancing Shrimp) are useful and beautiful animals that often belong to the permanent clean-up crew of the marine aquarium. The Dancing Shrimp grows to about 4 cm and mainly eats leftover food in the aquarium. But it is not safe for coral, especially zoanthus are favorite to eat.

They usually live in pairs and have a rock shelter where they hide during the day.

Shrimp, like lobsters and crabs, only have an external skeleton that becomes too small as they grow, once every few days they crawl out of this skeleton and hide until the new skeleton has hardened, during this time the animal is very vulnerable and will hide.
