Barium is a trace element found in reefs worldwide and plays an important role in coral calcification.
It is important to monitor levels by ICP analysis and ensure adequate concentration and stability by dosing barium as needed.
The concentration of barium in seawater varies greatly between oceans and depths, but a concentration of 10 µg/l is an acceptable concentration.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Barium dosing is quite safe, but high doses are toxic to all animals and can be fatal. Do not overdose and ensure adequate concentration by testing regularly.
