Selenium is a trace element found in small amounts in the seawater of reefs around the world.

Selenium is a very important trace element that in low concentrations has a positive effect on the calcification, health and coloration of the coral skeleton and protects corals against oxidative compounds. To make the most of the benefits, selenium should be used in combination with VitaPlus.

It is important to monitor selenium levels using ICP analysis and ensure adequate levels and stability by dosing the selenium supplement as needed.

Of course, the selenium concentration in seawater varies depending on depth and region, but the concentration is normally not higher than 0.8 µg/liter.

By using selenium in conjunction with a regular testing procedure, each aquarium resident can correct their selenium levels to ensure that aquarium water levels remain within the optimal range for their species.

1 ml Reef Zlements Selenium increases the selenium concentration of 100 liters of water by 2 μg/l.
