Reef Builder increases the carbonate hardness without directly affecting the PH.

With prolonged use, stability will occur at a pH of 8.3. Carbonates and Calcium are essential for the growth and health of corals. If one of the two becomes deficient, the coral will stop growing quickly and then deteriorate rapidly.

Reef builder will not have a negative effect on magnesium, strontium or calcium levels. If the PH also needs to be raised immediately, it is better to use Reef Builder in combination with Reef Buffer instead of just reefbuilder.

Use of Seachem Reef Builder

BEGINNER: Use 3 g (1/2 level teaspoon) twice a week per 150 L (40 gallons). Dissolve in at least 250 ml (1 cup) of fresh water. Check the alkalinity every 2 weeks and adjust the amount or frequency accordingly. For precise dosing, use the Seachem Digital Spoon Scale.

ADVANCED: Check the alkalinity and follow the above addition schedule until the alkalinity is adjusted to 4-5 meq / L. Every 3 g / 150 L increases the alkalinity by approximately 0.25 meq / L. Quantity or frequency can be adjusted, but exceed not the 12 g / 150 L per day. Next, use as required to maintain alkalinity.

EXPERT: Set a continuous drip system after determining the alkalinity consumption. Use the following formula to determine how much to add to your top water: m = 0.08va (m = gram to add to top-off water, v = volume of tank in liters, a = quantity increases the alkalinity in meq / L). For example, if you want to increase your alkalinity by 1 meq / L in a 200-liter tank, add 0.08x200x1 = 16 g to the top water. [For reference: 1 gallon = 3.8 liters, 6 g = 1 teaspoon]. DO NOT OVERDOSE: Excessive alkalinity may increase the loss of calcium, magnesium and strontium. Do not mix directly with a calcium, magnesium or strontium supplement. It is best to add calcium and carbonate additives on alternating days or with an interval of at least 30 minutes.

Contains carbonate, bicarbonate, chloride and sulfate salts of sodium, magnesium, calcium, strontium and potassium. Each gram contains at least 12 meq alkalinity.
