StressGuard ™ is the premium mucosal protection product. StressGuard ™ reduces stress and ammonia poisoning when handling or transporting fish. StressGuard ™ binds exposed protein in wounds to promote healing of injured fish and to reduce the risk of primary and secondary infections. StressGuard ™ is compatible with all medicines except those based on copper. StressGuard ™ is not amine-based and will not interfere with Purigen®; or HyperSorb ™ regeneration. StressGuard ™ does not coat resins or filtration such as competing "mucous membrane" -like products.

What makes StressGuard ™ very successful in healing is the fact that it contains protein-active colloids. This active colloidal agent actively searches for wounds, scrapes, or places where exposed proteins adhere to and adhere to this area to deliver the disinfectant directly into the product and initiate the healing process. This protein-active colloid, because it binds to the exposed proteins, also acts as a fluid dressing against wear. Some products are marketed to be injected into the bag when a fish is purchased. Those products are generally acidic, with some brands being very strong acids. Doing such a product in a small, sealed container with a fish often does more harm than any intended good. StressGuard ™ has a pH of 7.0. It does not affect the pH of an aquarium, even in large quantities. There are no other products on the market that can compare with the effectiveness of StressGuard ™.

Explanation for use of Seachem Stressguard

Use 1 / 2-1 caps (2.5-5 ml) daily for every 40 L (10 US gallons) until signs of stress are reduced or healing is complete. The dose can be safely doubled.
