Seachem PhosGuard quickly removes phosphate and silicate from freshwater and seawater aquariums. Seachem PhosGuard is round for optimum water flow and has exceptional porosity and increased capacity. Seachem PhosGuard has a working capacity to remove 20 to 60 mg / L phosphates from 400 liters of water with a similar impact on silicates.

Seachem PhosGuard can be used constantly or with intervals, and will not release any removed phosphates into the water. Every liter treats up to 1200 liters of water.

Seachem PhosGuard's unique round shape prevents clogging and channel formation, thereby increasing the flow speed and media efficiency.

Seachem PhosGuard is best used in smaller quantities. In an environment with a too high phosphate content, PhosGuard will reduce the phosphate content within 4 to 5. Place the product in a high-flow area and test your phosphate levels, change if necessary. When you see that your level is lower than 0.2 ppm (mg / L), leave that part of the Seachem PhosGuard in the filter / sump. Seachem PhosGuard can turn a little yellow because it adds up organic, but that is not an indication of depletion for phosphate removal. Continue to test for your phosphate content on a weekly basis until you see it rise. You will then know that it is time to add Seachem PhosGuard. If you have a low phosphate level, Seachem PhosGuard will absorb the silicate in your system.

Seachem does not recommend using PhosGuard in a media reactor because the swirl of the granules in the media reactor can produce dust. It is best to place Seachem PhosGuard in a net (these are also supplied by Seachem) and place it in a sump where there is good flow.

Seachem PhosGuard can cause heat on first contact with water. Add a double amount of tap water (250 ml phosguard, 500 ml tap water).

Seachem PhosGuard is aluminum-based and cannot be regenerated.

When rinsing properly, you can use Seachem PhosGuard.
