Ammonia Alert is an innovative color tester for continuous monitoring of the toxic free ammonia. A color sensor changes from yellow to green to blue, depending on the concentration of ammonia in the water. No test kit, chemical additives, or actions are required to monitor the values. The device registers less than 0.05 mg / L (ppm) of free ammonia and warns of the No. 1 killer among the fish. If no ammonia is present, the device turns yellow to light green. It is very normal for the device to turn green when used as new. It may take a few days for the device to get used to the water. The presence of ammonia is always measured with an interval of 15 minutes. When reducing the ammonia, the tester responds more slowly and requires approximately 4 hours for this to be seen on the tester that the water is free of ammonia.

No maintenance is required except the removal of algae with a clean, soft cloth. Do not touch the sensor with your fingers, as skin oil can damage it. Do not use bleach, soap, cleaning agents or hard objects to clean the sensor. Some medications can discolor the sensor and therefore it is better to remove the Ammonia Alert temporarily. The Ammonia Alert works for about a year.
