Elacatinus puncticulatus , commonly known as the Redhead Goby , is a small, reef-dwelling goby with a striking and elegant appearance. Its body is slightly translucent and subtly colored, with a few larger spots along the side and fine spots over the rest of the body. The real eye-catcher is its bright red head with bright orange stripes and an electric blue line .

In the wild, this species is often found near Eucidaris thouarsi , but in the aquarium, it can easily be kept without this sea urchin. Its small size and colorful appearance make the Red Head Goby very suitable for nano aquariums .

It's important that this fish can eat several times a day, or ideally, it should be kept in an aquarium with plenty of natural zooplankton . This contributes to good condition and long-term health.
