The 500 ml container of Tropical Marine Power Easy KH/Alkalinity is a state-of-the-art marine additive intended to increase the KH/Alkalinity level (bicarbonate level) in marine aquariums.

Specially designed for smaller tanks mainly inhabited by soft corals. The active ingredient of the product is a substance that increases the alkalinity of water, as well as small amounts of potassium, iodine and flour. Alkalinity is one of the most important components of a healthy saltwater environment, but unlike in nature, where levels are nearly constant, home aquariums suffer from frequent fluctuations that are detrimental to the well-being of the aquarium ecosystem.

In a healthy marine aquarium, the level of bicarbonate ions (HCO3-) decreases continuously. Bicarbonate ions are the main source of building material for coral skeletons, but are also regularly consumed by snails, calcified algae and mollusks, depleting the essential resource from the tank. It is thanks to the right level of KH (bicarbonates) that corals grow.

Dosage

The dosage of MARINE POWER EASY KH/ALKALINITY depends on the daily KH loss. A full cap of the liquid (about 20 ml) increases the KH by approx. 0.53 dKH in 100 l of water. The contents of the cap should be added in the aquarium near the circulation pump so that the liquid is well distributed in the aquarium. With a higher consumption of bicarbonates, we recommend our MARINE POWER ADVANCED KH/ALKALINITY. Due to the possible stress of the inhabitants of the aquarium, the daily increase in KH should not exceed 1 degree dKH.

Note: Excess and deficiency of bicarbonates (KH) can both be harmful to marine invertebrates, so check the KH level in the aquarium regularly.
