Tropical - Marine Power Advanced Magnesium

The 500ml container of Tropical Marine Power Advanced Magnesium is a premium, home made concentrated solution for marine aquariums, but has been specially designed for smaller aquariums mainly occupied by soft corals. Along with chloride and sodium, magnesium is one of the three main components of seawater and supports the availability of calcium and strontium for the calcification of corals such as LPS and SPS corals, snails and mussels. Magnesium is also an important bio-element that helps many marine organisms in their metabolic processes. The magnesium content in natural coral marine environments is about 1280-1320 mg/l.

In most marine aquariums, magnesium levels should be maintained at a stable and comparable level. Small deviations of 10-15% are not dangerous for the invertebrates in the aquarium, but they can put a strain on the corals and become even more problematic over time. While magnesium is not the main component of the coral skeleton, its ions are often built into the skeleton's composition, and for some types of corals, magnesium accounts for more than 3% of the skeletal structure. Magnesium consumption depends on many factors, such as: water temperature, lighting, type of stock in the aquarium and others, and its level requires regular monitoring.

Dosage

Marine Power Advanced Magnesium is ideal for use in popular supplementation programs.

Preparation of 1 liter of supplement:

• Weigh 610 g of the powder using a kitchen scale.
• Pour approximately 400 ml RODI water at room temperature (20°C) into a graduated container.
• Add 610 g of MMarine Power Advanced Magnesium to the container filled with water and mix until the crystals are completely dissolved.
• Top up the container to 1 L (1000 ml) with RODI water.

Every 10 ml of this solution increases the magnesium level by about 7.3 mg in 100 l of water in the aquarium.

Due to the potential stress for corals and other animals in the aquarium, the daily increase in magnesium should not exceed 80 mg/l.

Note: Too much or too little magnesium can be harmful to marine invertebrates, so check the magnesium level in the aquarium regularly.
