Skim AEROX Ultra-Pure Spheres is a high-performance CO₂ absorbing media, specially developed for use in marine aquariums. The media is applied to the air intake of the protein skimmer and helps raise and stabilize the aquarium's pH, especially in modern homes with elevated CO₂ levels.

Skim AEROX is manufactured to exacting specifications from Modern Reef. This makes the medium perfectly suited to the conditions of a marine aquarium. While (medical) CO₂ media also exists, these are designed for different applications and are not automatically suitable for use with a protein skimmer.

Usage

Skim AEROX is used exclusively in the air supply of the protein skimmer, via a CO₂ scrubber or reactor.

• Use approximately 750–1000 ml of medium per CO₂ scrubber
• Connect to the skimmer air inlet
• Average lifespan: 4–6 weeks in an aquarium of 500–750 liters*
• Clear color change from white to violet when the medium is saturated

*Depending on the CO₂ level in the room and the airflow through the skimmer.

Available variants

• 1.6 kg (1.9 liter) – ideal for smaller systems or for testing CO₂ scrubbing
• 5 kg (5.9 liters) – suitable for larger aquariums or long-term use
