Modern Reef – Reef Keeping System is the foundation of our proportional consumption reef keeping system with Complete Reef Food and Polypop. Once you have found the maintenance dosage and ideal KH level, Our system will provide your reef with everything it needs to thrive and develop color by regulating the consumption of KH (carbonate hardness) and Ca (calcium).

Preparation:

Modern Reef All-in-one RKS is a ready-to-use 4-equal parts liquid. It can be dosed by hand, but it is recommended to use it with a dosing pump. Especially for SPS-dominant reef aquariums. Preferably with a dosing pump that can be calibrated with 4 heads.

If your doser has only 3 heads, you can combine one part BASE-KH1 with one part BASE-KH2 in one can or container. In this case, you should multiply the combined BASE KH1 and KH2 dosage by 2.

To improve pump performance for accurate dosing and a stable reef aquarium, consider these tips:

• The tubing from the canisters to the dosing pump heads should be the same length, and also from the pumps to your aquarium should be the same length. This will give the pumps the same conditions and make the calibration more consistent between them.
• Calibrate your dosing pump according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Remember to check the calibration every 6 months and recalibrate if necessary.
• Set the doser to dose equal parts and give at least 10 minutes between each dosing pump. Ideally start with KH1, then CAL, then KH2, then MAG, with a 10-15 minute interval.
• Divide the daily dose as often as your dosing pump allows per day.

Dosage:

Simply dose equal parts of each to keep the KH between 6.8-8dKH, and the rest will be kept proportional. Try to find the ideal KH level for your reef tank's light spectrum based on calcium consumption for the first 2 weeks. With In other words, dose equal parts to keep calcium stable between 380-420 ppm and then test your KH to find your ideal KH level by keeping it between 6.8-8dKH. This is how our Modern Reef All-in -one RKS adapts to the consumption of your aquarium setup and not the other way around.

Example 1 : If you are dosing equal parts of each to keep the KH at 7.5 and your calcium drops, increase your dosage to increase and keep the KH at 7.7 and recheck the calcium. Repeat as necessary. Once you have found the ideal KH level for your aquarium, you will not need to test the calcium often.

Example 2 : If you are dosing equal parts of each to keep the KH at 8 and your calcium goes up, reduce your dosage to keep it down and keep the KH at 7.8 and recheck the calcium. Repeat as needed. Our Modern Reef All-in-one RKS does not require shaking or a magnetic stirrer.

Precaution:

You do not need to use any products such as amino acids, mixed trace elements or other products that are tagged for coral coloration, polyp extensions or growth. These are all included in proportional consumption, except solid food. Avoid them when using this product.
