What is phytoplankton?

Phytoplankton are microalgae. They are photosynthetic organisms that form the basis of marine and freshwater food webs and play a key role in the global carbon cycle. They serve as a fundamental food source for many marine organisms and provide essential nutrients that promote the well-being of fish and other aquatic life. They are rich in proteins, fatty acids, pigments, vitamins and minerals that are necessary for the growth and development of marine life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to add all 3 phytovariants at the same time? Can I use just one bottle? We recommend adding all three products for best results. The three phytoplankton blends are perfectly balanced.

What happens if I add too much to my aquarium? It can cause cloudy water, but this is not harmful.

I see sediment in the bottle - is the plankton spoiled? No, it is normal for plankton to settle. After gently shaking the bottle it can be dosed again.

Can I mix all 3 bottles in one container and dose together? Since the plankton species are selected based on growth rate, we do not recommend mixing them together.

Can I add the phytos with a dosing pump? The plankton must be shaken gently before dosing, so it is generally not recommended to use it with a regular dosing pump.

Dosage:

- 1 - 2 ml per day per 100 liters of aquarium volume.
- Shake PHYTO A, B, C gently before adding and dose into a free flowing area directly into the aquarium.

Save:

- Store refrigerated at 4 - 9°C! DO NOT freeze.

Shelf life:

- PHYTO A, B, C have a shelf life of approximately 6 months in the refrigerator.
