DUPLA Worm X (Trap for bristle worms)

There is no saltwater aquarium in which bristle worms do not occur. They usually live in secret and often only come out at night or when they are looking for food. If you notice signs of damage to the coral or to anthocyanins, a bristle worm infestation cannot be ruled out. You should arm yourself with a flashlight at night at the latest and search the aquarium. If you quickly discover a number of these pests, you should remove them from the aquarium if possible before they can cause major damage. It is often not possible to catch individual animals with tweezers, because the bristle worms often divide and a new bristle worm can develop from each part. It is absolutely not advisable to catch bristle worms by hand, because the small 'bristles' can cause annoying skin irritations that last for days. The easiest and most reliable way to catch bristle worms is with a bristle worm trap. With the help of the Worm X bristle worm trap, you can reliably catch bristle worms and then easily remove them from the aquarium.

How the Worm X brush worm trap works:

  • Open one side of the brush worm trap
  • Add some food (krill, mysis, Dupla Eeze or some mussel meat) and reassemble the trap.
  • Place the Worm X bristle worm trap in an area where you have previously seen bristle worms.
  • Bristle worms are nocturnal. The Worm X Bristle Worm Trap should therefore be used in the evening and removed in the morning.
  • Do not touch the bristle worms as their bristles can cause painful injuries.
