DUPLA Jod 24, 50 ml

Essential trace element iodine for daily dosage. Necessary for the development and colouring of corals. Indispensable for the molting of crustaceans. Important for many algae species. Promotes the light adaptation and colouring of soft corals, especially stony corals.

The trace element iodine should be added to the aquarium regularly. It has the property of precipitating very quickly, which is further accelerated by the addition of ozone, filtration through carbon or the use of a skimmer. In addition, iodine is broken down by exposure to light. An iodine deficiency inhibits the growth of invertebrates and corals and leads to discolouration. Jod 24 nano promotes the colouration and development of corals, optimises light adaptation to different light conditions and helps to neutralise the excess oxygen produced by zooxantella. Echinoderms need iodine to build their shells, crustaceans and shrimps need iodine to harden their chitin shells after moulting. For the long-term care of Xenia colonies and many types of algae, such as various Caulerpa, Halimeda and many brown algae, regular addition of Jod 24 nano is essential. Iodine in fish, a component of the thyroid hormone, prevents the formation of goiter.

Dosage:

With normal stocking daily 2 drops per 100 l aquarium water. The dosage can be increased if there is a higher iodine requirement due to a large livestock population and therefore more consumers or due to above-average losses, as mentioned in the introduction. If corals react with an excessive increase in colour, the dosage must be reduced.
