Biopellets NP is an easy to use filter material for removing phosphate and nitrate in marine aquariums. The Biopellets NP, made of 100% biodegradable polymers, form both a colonization surface and a food source for phosphate and nitrate degrading bacteria. During growth, the bacteria use the Biopellets NP as an organic carbon source (energy source) and phosphate and nitrate from the aquarium water as nitrogen and phosphorus sources. The waste products nitrate and phosphate are converted into microbial biomass and then removed from the aquarium by skimming or as an additional food source (bacterial plankton) by filter feeders, mussels, sponges and corals. Including measuring spoon.
Application:
Biopellets NP are designed for use in a pellet or fluidized bed reactor for marine aquariums. Powerful skimming of the aquarium water is necessary for gas exchange and the removal of nutrients. Initially, 50 ml of Biopellets NP should be used per 100 litres of aquarium content. If necessary, this amount can be doubled every 4 to 5 weeks. A maximum of 200 ml of Biopellets NP may be used per 100 litres of aquarium water.
