Even though few people say it out loud, the amount of live rock available on the market exceeds the amount that can be legally extracted. LifeRocks are covered with a reddish bacterial film. This makes them look like living rock with a calcareous red algae layer. More importantly, however, LifeRocks are revitalized live rock through the bacterial coating. The biofilm, which consists of permanent stages of different bacterial strains, allows transport and storage in a dry state. Aquascaping also opens up completely new design possibilities: you can fully concentrate on the construction without ensuring that the stones do not dry out.

A helping hand to get the process started

LifeRocks are pre-soaked with bacteria that remain dormant until the rocks are placed in the aquarium, allowing for dry transportation and storage. Once activated, the bacteria work to reduce the ammonia level in the water to zero. The result is a living, breathing reef that creates the perfect microclimate for marine life.
