The living alternative to living rock

Until now there was no alternative to live rock. Then came CaribSea's LifeRocks. Fossil aragonite rock with a bacterial coating, which shortens the running-in phase compared to living rock and creates a long-lasting, stable microclimate. And all this without ecological concerns, with a lower nutrient load and incredible design freedom. With the arc-shaped LifeRock Arches you can create spectacular bridges and transitions. The openness of the reef allows the water to flow through it more easily and the fish to swim through it. Placed on its side or turned upside down, there are other uses such as as a base for cave systems with retreat options into the reef.

LifeRocks are covered with a reddish bacterial film. This makes them look like living rock with a layer of calcareous red algae. What is much more important, however, is that LifeRocks become revitalized living rocks due to the bacterial coating. The biofilm, which consists of permanent stages of different bacterial strains, allows transport and storage in a dry state. Aquascaping also offers completely new design possibilities: you can fully concentrate on the structure without having to ensure that the stones do not dry out.

Once the LifeRocks arrive in the water, they come to life. This makes them more than just a visual focal point for fascinating reefs - they are a reef that lives and filters and provides the optimal microclimate for invertebrates and fish.
