Features:

  • Color : Dark brown to olive green, often with a lighter snout. As the fish ages, the color may fade somewhat.
  • Length : Up to approx. 20 cm.
  • Behavior : Generally peaceful, but can be territorial towards similar fish (especially other surgeonfish).
  • Diet : Herbivore – eats mainly algae. Supplement with dried and fresh plant foods (such as nori).
  • Aquarium size : Minimum 300 liters recommended.
  • Suitable for: Advanced aquarists due to space requirements and specific dietary requirements.
  • Compatibility : Can be combined with other peaceful fish, provided there is sufficient swimming space.
