Grotech NP-Minus BioPellets consist of 100% biodegradable polymers. These Grotech NP-Minus BioPellets dissolve over a period of a few months, and act as a carbon source for aerobic bacteria and other micro-organisms. Together with the nitrate and phosphate - which are usually present in abundance in the aquarium water - microbiological biomass is therefore established.

GroTech NP-Minus BioPellets are the perfect solution for a safe reduction of excessive nitrate and phosphate levels. Especially in aquariums with a high nutrient load, Grotech NP-Minus BioPellets are very beneficial for the successful maintenance of the aquarium.

We recommend that you use the Grotech NP-Minus BioPellets only in a fluidised bed filter, eg Pellet reactor. Here, on the one hand, the required aerobic conditions are used, and on the other hand, the Biofilm formed on the Pellets is reliably and continuously broken down by the vortices in the fluidised bed filter.

Regardless of the fluid bed filter arrangement, it is important for various strains of bacteria that settle on the pellets to receive the absolutely necessary oxygen for highly efficient degradation of contaminants. To provide sufficient oxygen for the bacteria, an extremely efficient decomposition of pollutants (especially in the dark) through a good gas exchange in the aquarium is necessary. This can be done by means of aeration (for example by means of a skimmer) in combination with sufficient water movement. For all other aquarium residents it is important to prevent dangerous oxygen loss from occurring in the aquarium water.

Dosage Grotech NP-Minus BioPellets

50 to a maximum of 200 ml Grotech NP-Minus BioPellets for every 100 liters of water, depending on the nutrient pollution of the aquarium water.

To prevent bacteria from flowering, a stepwise addition of the pellets at a distance of about a week is recommended. Preferably start with approximately 30% of the amount normally required.

This ensures that the amount of Grotech NP-Minus BioPellets is adjusted to the growing bacterial population, thereby preventing unclear water fragility.
