The Harlequin Tuskfish is a robust, intelligent, and inquisitive fish that is often friendly towards other medium-sized to large fish, provided there is sufficient space. Despite its peaceful nature, it can treat small invertebrates (such as shrimp or crabs) as prey, so caution is advised when combining it with these species.

In a well-equipped aquarium with ample hiding places and open swimming space, the Choerodon fasciatus quickly feels at home. It's a strong, durable species that will last for years with proper care.
