The Nano-Tech BioSpheres from Maxspect are a durable, tight arrangement of smaller spheres that create an ultra-high surface area that reduces the volume of biomedium that is actually needed for efficient nutrient cycling in both freshwater and saltwater aquariums and ponds. These unique ceramic media have a unique transverse surface that creates an ideal surface for a dense population of beneficial bacteria that remove ammonia and nitrites from your aquarium water. Some systems may also notice a decrease in nitrates. Suitable for wells, drip filter reactors, wet / dry filters, hanging on the rear filters or directly in the tank.

The Maxspect Nano-Tech Bio-Media has been developed using established technology borrowed from the sewage treatment industry with a proven record of removing nutrients from wastewater. Instead of heaping precious living rocks in the aquarium to use for biological surfaces, we now have the ability to reclaim more space and less weight in our aquariums and collection trays.
