Deltec protein skimmer 1500ix

The Deltec Skimmer 1500ix has a newly developed emergency overflow. This prevents the skimmer from "boiling over" when the water level in the skimmer rises. This can happen, for example, because the feed pump stops and the water level in the sump rises. In addition, there may be problems with the air supply, eg due to a kink in the silicone hose. This allows the skimmer to "boil over" and the water rises so high that it is pressed into the foam pot and the foam waste is backwashed into the sump. This leads to an extreme load on water. This is prevented by the emergency overflow.

Emergency overflow pipe and regulator tube

The water level in the Deltec Skimmer 1500ix can be read on the emergency overflow pipe. In addition, the minimum and maximum markings help to optimize the water level. The ability to interchange the emergency overflow pipe with the regulator pipe gives the user the option to decide how the pipes are arranged.

Pump

The Deltec Skimmer 1500ix is equipped with the low-consumption and high-performance Deltec pump DCS 1200. It generates an air supply of 1200 liters with a power consumption of only 27 Watt.

The ergonomic cylinder shape

Thanks to the ergonomic cylinder shape, the Deltec Skimmer 1500ix achieves the best results with
skimming it. The shape of the skimmer does not rise upwards. This allows the small air bubbles to rise unhindered, are fully saturated and only burst into the riser of the foam pot. From there, the skimming waste can be discharged through a drain hose without having to take the foam pot down.

Cleaning System

As an option, a cleaning system is available for the Deltec Skimmer 1500ix, in which the inner standpipe is cleaned by turning deposits through the foam cover. If these deposits are not removed at regular intervals, the skimming performance will be drastically reduced as foam bubbles form on this layer

Hollow chamber bottom

An additional innovation of the Deltec Skimmer 1500ix is the hollow chamber bottom. This helps muffle the sound even more, leading the already quiet Deltec Skimmer 1500ix to be called "whisper quiet". In addition, the water flows back through the hollow chamber bottom. The water is fed out of the skimmer at the lowest possible point, which means that almost no air bubbles can flow into the aquarium.

Disassembly, dimensions and construction

Normal cleaning of the pump is very easy thanks to the simple and quick disassembly of the skimmer. Deltec Skimmer 1500ix can be assembled and disassembled without tools. Tests have shown that the pump can be removed from the skimmer in less than 20 seconds. The dimensions of the Deltec Skimmer 1500ix have been chosen in such a way that they can be comfortably placed in a sump. Due to the large volume of the cylinder shape, a small base surface is sufficient.
