The Deltec 'i' DC pump and 'ix' AC pump series of protein skimmers contain a new emergency overflow system that prevents the collection cup from overflowing in the event that the crankcase water level suddenly exceeds the water depth specified by the skimmers or the air inlet is blocked. As the water level in the protein skimmer body rises, the air supply to the pump is automatically switched off via the emergency overflow, further reducing the chance of foam forming in the cup if the water level in the sump would ever rise due to a reverse pump failure.

The new protien skimmers also contain minimum and maximum adjustment level markings on the exhaust pipes for easy installation.

The 'double base' foot plate design ensures that water leaves the body of the protein skimmer in a cavity in the foot plate and in the integrated level adjustment tube and the emergency overflow tube. This new design function means that water at the lowest point leaves the body of the protein skimmer, considerably reducing the chance of microbubbles escaping from the body, increasing the contact time between air and water and also the noise and turbulence in the body of the protein skimmer. is reduced.
