Potassium is an essential macronutrient for all living organisms and occurs in natural seawater at a concentration of 408 mg/l. Adjusting the potassium concentration to the natural level with Tropic Marin® Potassium in case of a potassium deficiency can sometimes give a vitality boost to various corals.

Before using Tropic Marin® Potassium, carefully determine the potassium concentration with a water test (e.g. Tropic Marin® K+ Test Pro).

Tropic Marin® Potassium contains 100 mg/ml potassium. A dosage of 10 ml Tropic Marin® Potassium per 100 litres of water increases the potassium concentration in the water by 10 mg/l. A daily dosage of 20 ml potassium per 100 litres of water should not be exceeded.

Individual coral species can react to low potassium concentrations in aquarium water with stunted growth and weak coloration. Potassium is present in seawater in a concentration of approximately 408 mg/l. The potassium concentration should never be increased above the natural concentration – too high potassium concentrations are dangerous for sensitive animals.
