Tropic Marin NP-Standard is a specially formulated standard solution with known nitrate and phosphate concentrations, designed to check the accuracy of your test kits. By using this reference regularly, you can detect and correct any discrepancies in your test results.

Application & use

• Use demineralized or osmosis water according to the instructions on your test kit.
• Add a predetermined amount of NP-Standard to the water sample using the syringe provided.
• Perform the test as usual and note the measured value (M).
• The target value (S) is 2 mg/l for nitrate, or approximately 0.2 mg/l for phosphate.
• If there are deviations in the test results, you can calculate a correction factor (K = S / M) and apply it to future measurements.
• Check your test kits regularly (e.g. every 2–4 weeks) against this standard to ensure reliability.
