The Stomatella snail is a particularly useful and beloved member of the cleaning team in marine aquariums. This small, flat snail resembles a miniature abalone and is an excellent algaecide that helps keep aquarium glass, rocks, and other surfaces clean.
Stomatellas are nocturnal but are also frequently seen during the day. They move quickly for a snail and reproduce easily in a healthy aquarium, making a lasting contribution to a stable and clean ecosystem.
They primarily feed on microalgae and biofilm, without harming corals or other inhabitants — ideal for reef aquariums.
