This powder is very effective in increasing the magnesium concentration in seawater aquariums, however, it is not ionically balanced to help properly maintain the kH buffer and should therefore be used as a one-off major corrective measure.
Magnesium is present in NSW (natural seawater) in a fairly high concentration (1350 - 1500 mg / L). Magnesium is an essential component of chlorophyll, which is needed for photosynthesis. Without photosynthesis the algae and therefore the corals, which we in our aquariums, cannot survive. Magnesium also has another important function in the sense of maintaining the right combination of calcium concentration and alkalinity or carbonate hardness.
Maintaining the correct magnesium concentration is therefore very important and is indirectly responsible for rapid coral and lime algae growth. Magnesium is consumed by algae growth and also by the use of a lot of lime water or by high calcium concentrations, high alkalinity and pH values.
All ingrediters are pharmaceutical quality or even better. This ensures that no unwanted elements are added to your valuable aquarium.
