Hydrospace PNS HomeGro is a complete grow kit that allows you to produce large quantities of Purple Non-Sulfur bacteria yourself. This bulk solution is designed for aquarists, aquaponics systems, and ponds, and allows you to cultivate bacterial cultures cost-effectively and sustainably.

One kit can ultimately treat over 8,000 gallons (over 30,000 liters) of system water. Because you cultivate the bacteria yourself, transport and packaging waste is also significantly reduced.

Available bacterial species

The kit contains one of the following bacterial strains:

• Rhodopseudomonas palustris – suitable for freshwater and marine water, a well-known symbiont of corals
• Rhodospirillum rubrum – suitable for freshwater and seawater, effective for carbon processing
• Rhodobacter capsulatus – mainly for freshwater, known symbiont of plants

The different types can also be combined for an even broader biological effect.

Economical and sustainable

All ingredients of the growth medium are precisely weighed per package. This allows for the production of a stable and consistent bacterial culture, provided clean and sterile practices are observed during the cultivation process.

Growing conditions

• Optimal temperature: 25 to 30 °C
• Continuous illumination of approximately 5,000 lumens
• Incubation period: approximately 30 days

The light source can generate additional heat during cultivation, which can help reach the optimal temperature for bacterial growth.
