Special salt mixture to lower the Ca value in saltwater aquariums.

Unwanted high calcium levels often occur in marine aquariums as a result of incorrect dosing of water additives, the use of calcareous tap water or an incorrectly adjusted calcium reactor. This can lead to stagnation of coral growth and even to the death of coral tissue. The optimal Ca value in a marine aquarium is 380 – 420 mg/liter

CoralMarine Ca Zero contains many trace elements and micronutrients essential for corals, invertebrates and fish, but NO calcium.

CoralMarine Ca Zero is made from high quality pharmaceutical grade chemicals.

After dissolution in osmosis water, CoralMarine Ca Zero contains 0 mg/l calcium, up to 1270 mg/l magnesium and a carbonate hardness of approx. 8° dkH.

Application

• Always use reverse osmosis water to prevent unwanted limescale from entering the system.
• Bring the spring water to a temperature of 23° - 25°C (73.5 - 77°F).
• Use a pump in the water reservoir to ensure sufficient water movement.
• DO NOT use an air diffuser to move the water.
• Dissolve the correct amount of salt in the water. NEVER add water to salt.
• After dissolving, check the density of the mixed salt water.
• Once the salt has completely dissolved, the water can be used immediately.
• “Pre-aging”, as is sometimes recommended for other salts, is not necessary.
• We recommend a salinity of 33-34% or a density of 1021-1022 g/l at 25°C (77°F)

Lowering calcium levels:

Remove the desired amount of aquarium water from the aquarium and replace it with the same amount of freshly prepared seawater with osmosis water and CoralMarine Ca Zero.

A 1% or 10% water change with CoralMarine Ca Zero will lower the calcium level in the aquarium by 1% or 10%.

If large changes in calcium levels occur, smaller water changes should be performed over several days and the change in calcium levels monitored.
