Fauna Marin SeaTak - Coral Glue

Permanent bonding of coral fragments with shell polymers.

Features of SeaTak Coral Adhesive:

  • Adheres underwater.
  • High initial strength.
  • Repositionable, formable and very strong after curing within a reasonable time.
  • Coral polyps will begin to grow over the glue within a short time.
  • Application and Instructions for Use:
  • The application varies greatly depending on the specific purpose, such as fragmenting stony corals in an aquarium or aquaculture, attaching a fragment to an artificial substrate, or directly attaching a coral fragment to a rock formation in an aquarium or natural habitat. Another application could be creating rock decorations, such as live rock, reef ceramics, or other artificial rock materials, both dry and wet (underwater).

It is important to understand that this glue behaves differently than cyanoacrylate or underwater epoxy. The application technique is significantly different from conventional bonding processes. Therefore, it is recommended to test a small amount before using it on live coral fragments.

Protection and Precautions:

Always wear protective gloves, not only to prevent skin contact, but also to facilitate subsequent clean-up.

Unique Underwater Glue:

SeaTak is a completely new underwater adhesive, inspired by the chemistry of mussel bissus glands. For centuries, humans have been fascinated by the enormous adhesive power with which mussels can adhere to any surface. Science has mimicked these chemical processes to develop a durable, non-toxic and easy-to-use adhesive based on shell polymers. This development was specifically aimed at creating an optimal and strong underwater adhesive for coral reef restoration. This adhesive is perfect for attaching stony coral fragments in reef aquariums.
