MEASURING PAR IS CRITICAL - An accurate PAR meter is critical to measuring the intensity of light used in accurately growing plants and other photosynthetic organisms in greenhouses, grow rooms, farms, gardens, aquariums and other farming systems. Our underwater quantum meters are specially designed to measure the intensity of light underwater for biological, chemical and physical processes in natural waters and aquariums.

UNDERWATER ACCURACY - Underwater PAR readings can be low when a quantum sensor is calibrated for air. The MQ-510 applies an immersion effect correction factor to get instant, accurate measurements underwater. Accurately measure and combine the intensity of all photons between 400 and 700 nm to give a single PAR value in µmol m -2 s -1 within a 5% uncertainty underwater. Unlike hobby grade PAR meters, our meter has a stable, accurate calibration with an accuracy deviation of less than 2% per year.

QUALITY QUANTUM METER - Unlike cheaper LUX or footcandle sensors that are sometimes marketed as grow light meters, but are intended to measure light for human vision, our meters have a lab grade PPFD (photosynthetic photon flux density), or "quantum", optical detector calibrated precisely to measure the light intensity in µmol m -2 s -1 of the specific color wavelengths emitted by LEDs, HPS, MH, sunlight and other light sources used by plants and coral for photosynthesis.

ROBUST & EASY TO USE - Quantum sensor head is made of aluminum and solid epoxy potted for years of use in harsh environments, including underwater. Attached with a cable, the hand-held meter displays real-time readings, records samples, and records average intensity and daily light integral (DLI) readings. Unlike the sensor head, the handheld meter is not waterproof.

THREE MEASUREMENT MODES - The meter has a spot, sample and log mode and records an integrated daily total in mol m -2 s -1 . Sample mode records up to 99 manual readings and Log mode turns the meter on and off to take a reading every 30 seconds. Every 30 minutes, the meter averages the 60-second readings and stores the average value in memory, up to 99 averages. Once full, it overwrites the oldest readings with new ones. A daily light integral is recorded from the 48 averaged measurements for a day's worth of measurements
