Living environment

In the wild, Amphiprion milii lives in tropical coral reefs, where it forms a symbiotic relationship with certain species of sea anemones. This partnership provides protection for both animals and creates a fascinating spectacle to observe in the aquarium.

  • Temperature : 24–27 °C
  • Salinity : 1.020 – 1.025
  • Diet : Omnivore – will accept flake food, frozen food, and fresh seafood mix
  • Compatibility : Keeps well with other peaceful reef fish. Avoid aggressive species or other clownfish unless they are in a pair.

Particulars

The Amphiprion milii is known for its captivating behavioral patterns, including dancing at its anemone and developing a group hierarchy. Like all clownfish, this species is protandrous hermaphrodites: it starts out as male and can change to female if the hierarchy requires it.
