Amphiprion ocellaris - Tank Bred

Amphiprion ocellaris, better known as the three-banded anemonefish or clownfish, is a popular saltwater fish, best known from the film "Finding Nemo." This fish lives in a symbiotic relationship with sea anemones, where it finds protection and helps the anemone fight off parasites and predators.

Tank Bred, what does that mean?

This fish is aquarium bred and will adapt to your aquarium more easily than a wild caught specimen!

Key Features:

  • Appearance : Orange fish with three white bands, bordered with black.
  • Behavior : Live in groups, with one dominant female fish and several males.
  • Diet : Omnivorous, eats plankton, algae and small crustaceans.
  • Symbiosis : Living in symbiosis with sea anemones, such as Heteractis magnifica, Stichodactyla gigantea, and Stichodactyla mertensii.
  • Aquarium : Suitable for beginners, but ensure good water quality and possibly an anemone.
  • Dimensions : Grows to a maximum length of 11 cm

  • They are best kept as a pair, but can also be kept alone.
  • They are relatively easy to keep, but an anemone is not strictly necessary.
  • They can settle in an aquarium with other fish, but it is better to introduce them first.
  • Provide good water quality and a balanced diet.
