The Meiacanthus grammistes, also known as the Striped Snake Blenny, is a striking and vibrant reef fish with a beautiful black and yellow striped pattern. This tank-bred variety is fully adapted to aquarium life and is therefore stronger, more stress-resistant, and more palatable than wild-caught specimens.
The Striped Blenny has an inquisitive and calm nature and is generally peaceful toward other fish. Thanks to its natural defense mechanism—small venom glands in its fangs—it is unaffected by predatory fish. This makes it an ideal and safe resident for the reef aquarium.
Provide plenty of hiding places among the live rock where the fish can retreat. The Meiacanthus grammistes will eat almost anything, including frozen food, mysis, brine shrimp, and high-quality pellets.
