The Ecsenius stigmatura, better known as the Tail Spot Blenny, is a charming and vibrant addition to any reef aquarium. This small, peaceful coral resident is instantly recognizable with its characterful appearance, vibrant colors, and characteristic black spot on its caudal peduncle.

The fish has an elongated, graceful body with an orange-brown hue, subtle lighter bands, and striking orange markings around the eyes. Despite its modest size (maximum about 6 cm), it has an inquisitive and playful nature. It can often be found perched on a rock, observing the aquarium from there.

The Tail Spot Blenny is also a beneficial resident: it helps graze algae on the rocks, thus contributing to a healthier reef environment.
