White Sand – Aquarium sand
White Sand is high-quality aragonite sand, especially suitable as a substrate for marine aquariums. Thanks to its high purity and natural composition, this sand provides an ideal basis for a healthy reef environment.
The sand consists of 99.6% calcium and magnesium carbonate (aragonite) , which contributes to stable water parameters and a natural appearance of the aquarium.
Advantages
- Very white color with strong light reflection
- Improves light distribution in the aquarium
- Supports light-requiring corals
- Heavier than standard coral sand, less resuspension
Optimal properties
Due to its bright white color, the sand reflects the light from the aquarium lighting, providing extra diffuse lighting from the bottom. This particularly benefits corals that require a lot of light.
With a bulk density of approximately 1.45 kg per liter, the sand stays in place better, even in strong currents.
Usage
- Rinse thoroughly several times before use.
- Rinse until the water is clear
- Recommended layer thickness: 2–3 cm
- For Deep Sand Bed (DSB): minimum 8 cm
