Medic is a highly effective water treatment agent that is used to combat external fish parasites in both marine and freshwater environments. It contains a reef-safe oxidant and is particularly effective against: Marine Ich - Crytpocaryon irritans, Freshwater Ich - Ichthyophthirius and Marine Velvet - Amyloodinium ocellatum.

How Polyplab Medic works

Fully reef-resistant, Bufferded to maintain physiological pH. Does not cause invertebrates and is not harmful to nitrifying bacteria. Many external fish parasites have similar life cycles. In particular, these parasites have a "connected phase (trophonts), a" mature "phase (protomonts, a" reproductive "phase (tomonts) and a" free swimming "phase (theronts / dinospores).

Most of the available treatments do not focus on the free swimming stage of the parasite, which is one of the main problems in dealing with these problems. Research with dilated protozoa has shown that the "free-swimming" stage of parasites has remarkably consistent breeding periods. We have designed our product to be the most efficient at this stage. Our conditioner focuses on the trophont stage of the parasite, but it also disrupts the life cycle during the 'free swimming period', when the oxidative component in the conditioner is particularly effective against theronts / dinospores.

Use of Polyplab Medic

For tank treatment: Use one level of Medic for every 190L (50 gallons) of your system volume twice a day. For serious problems, use (3) a measuring spoon for every 190L (50 gallons) of your system volume. Dose once in the morning and once in the evening. Continue dosing for 10 days up to a maximum of 20 days.

Note: ozone and carbon must not be used during treatment. Protein skimmers can be performed as normal. UV filter can be used one hour after dosing. The problem may seem to disappear if white dots are no longer visible on the fish. This is only part of the natural cycle of the parasite and you must continue to dose the product for the minimum full course (10 days) to be maximally effective. After the treatment is complete, filter over granular activated carbon for 2 or 3 days to remove the product.
