With Korallen-Zucht ZEOspur 2 it is possible to influence the amount of zooxanthellae in the coral tissue with this product. The coral itself has more energy for growth, because a low zooxanthellae density requires less energy. This is possible for Acropora, Anacropora and Montipora. The reduction of zooxanthellae in the outer layers brings out the colors of the deeper layers of the coral.
ZEOspur2 is also able to influence colors. However, the primary color seen is the color directly below the layer containing the zooxanthellae. It is possible to reduce the amount of zooxanthellae in such a way that the coral does not get enough energy through photosynthesis. This situation can be maintained for a long period of time without damage to the coral. However, experiments show that with a continuous overdose, the coral tissue becomes thinner and thinner and will eventually even completely dissolve. KZ recommends dosing every 14 - 21 days. It is important to apply the full dose at once, otherwise there will be no changes. The reduction of the zooxanthellae occurs within 48 hours and also reaches its highest point by this time. The reaction and therefore also the dosage amount differs per aquarium. It is therefore recommended to start with 50% of the recommended amount to get a feel for the product. Then you can increase the dosage, not the interval, by 10% at a time to find the perfect dosage amount.
- The maximum dosage is 1 ml per 100 liters and should not be exceeded.
