The Canthigaster solandri is a colorful and striking pufferfish from the Indo-Pacific region. This small toby species is known for its vibrant blue stripes over a warm brown to orange base color and its playful, inquisitive behavior. With a maximum length of about 10–12 cm, it remains relatively small, making it popular in larger marine aquariums.

This species is active, intelligent, and constantly searching for food. It primarily eats small crustaceans, algae, and spongy materials. In the aquarium, it may occasionally nibble on snails, worms, or corals, so it's not generally considered completely reef-safe. However, it is a robust and forgiving fish that thrives in a stable aquarium with a minimum capacity of 300 liters.

Typical of pufferfish, the Canthigaster solandri has a strong personality. It recognizes established routines and can even exhibit mild territorial behavior. Despite its cute appearance, it should be treated with respect, as it can inflate its body as a defense mechanism when stressed.
