ATI® Phos Stop – powerful phosphate and silicon remover

ATI® Phos Stop is a highly effective iron-based adsorbent, specially developed for use in marine aquariums. The medium removes not only phosphate but also silicate, gelling agents, and heavy metals such as copper from aquarium water. Elevated phosphate and silicate levels are among the main causes of unwanted algae infestations and coral decline or death.

Phos Stop quickly absorbs these unwanted substances and doesn't release them back into the aquarium water, even with prolonged use. The result is significantly improved water quality and a more stable, healthier reef environment.

Technical specifications

• Granulate size: 0.5 – 2 mm
• Surface area: approx. 230 m² per gram
• Phosphate removal: up to 15,000 mg per kg (seawater)
• Phosphate removal: up to 60,000 mg per kg (freshwater)
• Silicate removal: up to 10,000 mg per kg
• Heavy metals (e.g. copper): up to 8,000 mg per kg

Use and dosage

• Recommended dosage: 50–150 ml (approx. 30–90 g) per 100 liters of aquarium water
• Adjust dosage to the degree of water load
• Before use, rinse briefly with water to remove dust.
• Preferably use in a media reactor
• Alternative: use in a filter bag
• Ensure a slow flow, prevent channel formation
• Knead filter bags regularly outside of the water

Inspection and replacement

During use, regularly measure the phosphate value and, if necessary, also the silicate value.

• Phosphate guidelines: 0.03 – 0.1 mg/l
• Guideline value silicate: < 0.1 mg/l
• When phosphate and silicate levels do not decrease further, Phos Stop should be replaced
