The completely redesigned ATI® ICP Elements are high-purity solutions for increasing individual elements in reef aquariums. ATI® ICP Elements are ideal for compensating for element deficiencies and for daily element replenishment. The features of the new ATI® ICP Elements are:

ATI® ICP Element Iodine

A high-purity solution for increasing iodine levels of individual elements in reef aquariums. Ideal for compensating for elemental deficiencies and providing daily elemental support.

Dosage:

  • 1 ml per 100 litres increases the iodine content by 10 µg/l.
  • Increase by a maximum of 20 µg/l iodine (2 ml/100 l) per day.
  • The bottle contains 1,000,000 µg iodine.

Symptoms of low iodine levels:

  • Weaker tissue in Xenia and Zoanthus.
  • Increased susceptibility of corals to bacterial infections and parasites.
  • Iodine is involved in color formation (especially blue and violet) – a deficiency leads to a dull appearance.
  • Poor molting in shrimp and crabs: Iodine is necessary for the synthesis of the molting hormone ecdysteroid; a deficiency leads to molting problems or death.
  • Metabolic problems in fish, because iodine is needed in the thyroid gland.

Causes of low iodine levels:

  • Biological consumption by corals, macroalgae and microfauna: Brightly lit aquariums with many inhabitants consume iodine quickly.
  • No targeted compensation through the supply system.
  • Removal by skimming, activated carbon, ozone and UV: Iodine is readily removed as a volatile trace element – regular compensation is necessary.
