Nitrate is the highest oxidized phase in the nitrogen cycle. This is present in many places in the tap water. Feeding and degradation substances from the fish also produces nitrate. A high organic load therefore leads to a high nitrate content. Although nitrate is a nutrient for the plants, too much nitrate is harmful and, moreover, one of the causes for cryptocoryne wear. In the absence of CO2 and O2, there is a risk that the nitrate will be reduced to the toxic nitrite. But the biggest problem is the growth of algae, which can get out of hand quickly with too much nitrate.

Use of Aquatic Nature NITRAT STOP FRESHWATER

To increase and accelerate the absorption capacity of Nityrat stop, it is recommended to filter over Carbo aktif excel from Aquatic Nature one week in advance or during treatment. Carbo aktif excel quickly absorbs organic substances, thereby significantly increasing the effect of Nitrate stop. Rinse the Nitrat stopper with tap water or aquarium water that is 2.5L for 300 ml. Put the Nitrat stopper in the net (Filtra bag) in the filter. Measure the nitrate value after one to two days. If it is still above the desired value, you can regenerate the Nitrat stoop and use it again.

Regeneration of Aquatic Nature NITRAT STOP FRESHWATER

120 g Nitrat stop regenerator Iod free salt dissolve in a beaker with 1 liter of water. Place the Filtra bag with Nitrat stopper in this solution for one to two days and move occasionally. Then rinse thoroughly with 10 l of pure water.
After each work-up, the effect is reduced by approximately 10%. It is therefore useful not to regenerate Nitrate stop too often. Nitrat stop is not suitable for use in seawater, for this the Nitrat stop M version.
