Why choose the Black Cardinalfish?

• Unique color: The intensely black scales provide a striking accent among colorful corals and other fish.
• Social character: Apogonichthyoides melas feels most comfortable in small groups and is friendly towards other members of its species.
• Suitable for the reef aquarium: This fish leaves corals and invertebrates alone, making it a safe choice for the mixed marine aquarium.
• Bred in captivity: DJM Bred means that these fish have not been taken from the wild, which contributes to conservation and better adaptation to aquarium life.

Care and behavior

The Black Cardinalfish is relatively easy to keep, even for the less experienced aquarist. They are primarily active at night and like to seek shelter among the live rock during the day. Due to their peaceful nature, they can be kept perfectly well together with other peaceful fish.
