The Tridacna Crocea , also known as the Crocea clam, is a true eye-catcher for the marine aquarium. With its vibrant colors and striking pattern, this coral climber is a favorite among both beginner and experienced aquarists. The Crocea belongs to the family of giant clams and is known for its compact size and unique appearance.

A colorful addition to your reef aquarium

The Tridacna Crocea is distinguished by its intensely blue, green, or purple mantle, often adorned with iridescent spots. This shell likes to partially bury itself in live rock, giving the reef landscape a natural appearance. Thanks to its modest size, it is suitable for both medium-sized and larger aquariums.

• Compact size, ideal for placement on the reef platform
• Striking colors that visually enrich the aquarium
• Suitable for aquariums from approx. 100 liters

Care and placement

The Crocea shell requires a stable marine aquarium with sufficient light intensity. It feeds primarily on symbiotic algae (zooxanthellae) that need sunlight for photosynthesis. Powerful lighting, such as LED or T5, is recommended. Additionally, this shell filters plankton from the water, which helps it grow optimally.

• Requires strong lighting for healthy growth
• Preference for a spot with a light current
• Regularly check calcium and magnesium levels

Quality and origin

Our Tridacna Crocea is responsibly farmed and carefully selected. This guarantees not only a healthy animal but also a positive contribution to the conservation of natural populations. Each shell is delivered after a thorough inspection for vitality and color intensity.

• Responsibly farmed, no wild-caught
• Healthy and immediately ready for introduction into the aquarium
• Always carefully packaged and delivered quickly

Summary

The Tridacna Crocea is a magnificent choice for anyone wishing to enrich their marine aquarium with a lively and durable reef animal. Thanks to its beautiful colors and relatively simple care, this shell is a true asset for any marine aquarium enthusiast.
