Gammarus oceanicus is a species of amphipod in the family Gammaridae
G. oceanicus grows to about 22 mm (female) to 27 mm (male). The color is more or less uniform gray, yellow or greenish brown. The females are usually a bit darker. There are no distinctive color patterns. The species is found in coastal zones from the mid littoral to the sublittoral, sometimes reaching depths of 25 m. Usually G. oceanicus can be found near algal fields. The species can occur under a wide range of salinities and water temperatures.
