Because the Hydor Ario is not placed next to the aquarium and the air blows in like the traditional air pump, the Ario works completely opposite. The Hydor Ario is placed in the aquarium and sucks the air into the aquarium similar to a venturi system. Result: Many times less vibrations, noise and hoses everywhere.
